Worthies:
There is a new program to develop scholarships for the military Archdiocese of America. This program will go a long way in closing the current gab in active duty Chaplains. While this has been designated a State Wide Campaign the Fourth Degree has been request to take the leadership role in promoting this program.
As your Worthy Master I am more than happy to lead all of Georgia's Knights in this very worth while program.
In a nut shell each Jurisdiction is request to raise only $4,000 per year for five years for a total of $20,000. This my Brother Knights should be a Slam Dunk. With nearly 15,000 knights in Georgia that is only slightly more than $1.30 per Knight for the entire campaign. I am requesting each assembly to conduct a fund raiser or take up special collections for this cause with the goal of raising a minimum of $500 for each assembly. We have a few small assemblies that may only be able to raise one or two hundred dollars , while we have several large assembles fully capable of covering the entire $20,000 if their hearts were in the right place. And I extent this challenge to each of the 107 Councils in Georgia. If my challenge is met Georgia will raise over $70,000 and we can fulfill or 5 year obligation in just a few months. As the Vice Supreme Master makes periodic reports of giving I will be able to tack each assembly's and council's progress. Based on the numbers reported by the Vice Supreme Master at the end of March, there will be special awards presented at the Annual State Meeting in Savannah for Largest Sum Given by an assembly or council for both gross and per member.
The size of your assemblies (council) check is not the most important aspect of the giving. The more important part aspect is that your assembly (Council) make a true concerted effort in raising funds for our seminarians.
The checks should be made payable to the Knights of Columbus with the note Military Scholarship and mailed to:

Lets make Georgia the the first jurisdiction to fulfill its obligation to our seminarians.
Thank you, God Bless you and God Bless the United States of America
